Membership is presently around 175. We are keen to raise this number so please contact us if you want to join this important organisation and to link with its work for the past, present and future of our village.
Members get access to all our events and visits.
Members can use the Society to add strength to their concerns about planning and other local issues.
A Local History Group operates within the Society and we welcome members who would like to participate in the activities of this group.
The History group is custodian of the Staplehurst Archive
of historical material on behalf of the whole community. This archive contains:
- a large archive of photographs and postcards
- a collection of books and documents of historical interest
- other historical items that have been recorded electronically
You can see some archive material on this website. Members of the Group can be contacted about access to the Archive.
