| Nestling in the Weald of
Kent (the south east County of England, commonly called 'The Garden
of England'), Staplehurst lies within easy reach of London to the
north west and Dover to the East. The area is becoming more populated
and commercialised because of the Channel Tunnel and it's link to
London and beyond. The A229 through Staplehurst is the primary route
connecting Maidstone in the north with the southern seaside town
of Hastings. Maidstone is the County Town of Kent. Parts of the
surrounding coutryside still include hopfields & the oast houses
that process the hops. You may wish to take a look at the street
map, but don't forget to come back to follow the links to other
local Kent town and village web sites. |
