Services 4 and 5 (from 20th May 2001) * Monday to Friday daytime service increased to half hourly between Maidstone and Staplehurst – one bus an hour serving Bell Road, Southbank Road, Hanmer Way and Pinnock Lane. * Evening service restored and improved, between Maidstone and Hawkhurst. * 1733 Hastings to Hawkhurst to run through to Maidstone. * Sunday service between Hawkhurst and Hastings withdrawn. * Cheaper fares between Staplehurst and Maidstone until 1st September 2001. * Cheaper fare between Staplehurst Station and the Church. Fares: Staplehurst to Maidstone * Staplehurst Station to Staplehurst Church: Single fare reduced from 70p to 50p. * Staplehurst Quarter and Church to Maidstone Town Centre: Single fare reduced from £2.90 to £2.70 in line with Monument and Station fare ie ONE fare to Maidstone Town Centre from all of Staplehurst. * Return fare reduced from £5 to £3 until 1st September 2001. * Weekly season ticket between Staplehurst and Maidstone Town Centre reduced from £26.10 or £24.30 to £20 until 1st September 2001(valid for travel until this date). * Single fare between Staplehurst and west of the river in Maidstone – ie Tonbridge Road/Queens Road/London Road loop reduced to a standard £2.90 from between £2.90 and £3.40.
